I grew up, and currently live in Cornwall, shaped by the landscape, coastline, and strong sense of community that make this part of the world so special. From an early age, I developed a deep appreciation for land and place — not just how they look, but how they function and evolve over time.
My interest in planning began while I was at university, where I realised I was drawn to the bigger picture - how thoughtful decisions about land use can influence opportunity, community wellbeing, the environment and long-term value. That discovery set me on a path that became a 30+ year career in land use planning, working across both local government and private practice in the UK and New Zealand.
Experiencing two different countries and planning systems broadened my perspective and strengthened my ability to navigate complex projects with confidence and clarity. It also reinforced something I have always believed: good planning, done well, can unlock real potential.
Alongside my professional career, I have personally renovated properties in both the UK and New Zealand. These projects gave me first-hand experience of what it means to see beyond what is immediately visible - to recognise opportunity, manage risk, and bring ideas to life.
Today, through my work, I focus on helping landowners uncover the hidden value within their land and property. I am particularly passionate about supporting improved housing affordability and access to housing in Cornwall, contributing to solutions that are thoughtful, sustainable, and locally appropriate.
When I’m not working on projects, you will find me outdoors (in all weather!) enjoying Cornwall’s spectacular environment with my border collie, Ziggy 🐾 - enjoying the very landscape that first inspired my professional journey.
